John Norton is a Managing Director at ACT Capital Advisors, where he represents sellers across a broad range of industries and leads the firm’s Information Technology Practice. Based in Vancouver, Washington, John brings deep entrepreneurial and M&A experience to his role, helping business owners navigate successful exits.

Before joining ACT in 2016, John was a successful business owner and operator. He served as President of iHost Networks, a provider of web hosting, domain registration, and eCommerce services. Under his leadership, iHost expanded from just a few hundred small and mid-sized business clients to a customer base of over 14,000. In 2015, he sold the company to a private buyer.

Prior to iHost, John was a partner at MicroCrafts, Inc., a custom software engineering firm that became one of the Seattle area’s fastest-growing companies—ranking 3rd on Deloitte’s Fast 50 list. The company was acquired by the publicly traded Metamor Worldwide in 1999.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Washington, where he was also a two-year letterman on the Husky Crew Team.
